Time to blog
My boyfriend Joe says the money in his wallet is spent on eating and drinking. I said, "and......?"
Of course it is! We like to eat! Who doesn't? He always makes it seem as if I'm the only one. I enjoy a good meal and I know he does as well so why not make it fun by telling our story about the places we go and what we like or dislike. Our most favorite meal of the day is probably breakfast. I'm more of the adventurer and like to try different things. He sticks to what he likes and doesn't like to change much. Once in a while he might try, but most of the time when he does, things go bad and he loves to tell me, "I told you so." We have this sort of bantering relationship. I always want to be right and he as well so from what our kids say, it sounds a bit like we are arguing, but it's not that. We just love to make fun of each other and try to one up one another every chance we get.
Let me tell you a little bit about us so you know who we are.
We dated when we were in our twenties for 3 years. I was 24 when we broke up and he was 27. We married different people and had not seen each other for those 15 years we were married. In 2012 I ran into his step sister and she told me that he was divorced and that he was not doing to much with his social life. I had been divorced for 3 years then, and I had heard about his divorce from mutual friends but we never connected. I asked her to ask him to call me. She gave me his phone number instead. I wasn't sure if I should call but I was very curious about him and what he looked like so I texted him. I assumed she gave me his cell phone number, but it was his home phone so when I texted him, it ended up leaving him a automated message on his answering machine. He had told me later that the voice sounded funny with the message I left. I referenced that I was his blast from the past in the message so when the voice said that sentence it sounded like a robot. He explained to me about that night when he heard the message that he was very afraid to return my call. He said it was nerves mainly and that he too was curious about me. He finally did get the nerve to call me and we talked for 3 hours that night. My daughter kept coming into my room wondering who I was talking to. For that moment I lost all sensibility and kind of forgot about my family. I was hearing him as if it was just yesterday that I had spoken to him. His voice sounded the same as I had remembered and it was such a pleasure to hear his laughter again. I was laughing again too. We ended with promising to get together. He waited to call me again for about a week. It was the longest week ever. We finally went out on our first date after all those years and the rest is history. We have been together now for 4 years, 5 months, 8 hours, 15 minutes, IDK how many seconds, not that I'm keeping track LOL! So now we are in our fifties. I just turned 51 yesterday and he is 54. I have two children and
he has one. My son is 23 and my daughter is 13. His daughter is 14. We all get along well together. I have many stories to tell about us, but I'll save those for another time.
Getting back to his empty wallet and my love for food I will begin posting about our experiences. Stay tuned.....
